About 1,000 people attended the Flop E Bunny event at Victory Park on Saturday, April 15 – twice as many as usually show up the annual, pre-Easter gathering.
The line waiting for the free pictures with the Bunny in the gazebo usually stretches out to South Liberty Street. This time it went to Liberty and then extended for a large portion of the park. Besides the pictures, there were candy hunts by age groups, parents taking pictures of their children on the fire trucks and police car, and non-profit organizations selling items. CSF-5 sold food and Kiwanis sold children’s books for $1 each.
Flop E Bunny was out in its brand-new outfit to have free pictures taken with children for about three hours. The event was put on by the Belleville Central Business Community, with financial support from Genisys Credit Union, Friends of Michigan Animals Rescue, and Tucker Insurance Agency.
