Michigan Emmy award-winning songwriter Kitty Donohoe announces the release of her first children’s book, “Henny and Benny Bunyan and the Maple Syrup Adventure.”
The Henny and Benny characters are distant relatives of the legendary lumberman Paul Bunyan and their first story involves a flapjack contest, a sled, maple syrup, and possible disaster for the little town of Pineville.
The 40-page, full-color book, illustrated by Pinckney artist Lori Taylor, is geared for ages 5 to 11 and comes with a five-song CD.
Donohoe, an Irish singer and songwriter based in Ann Arbor, has performed at the Music Lakeside concerts in Belleville.
She will be doing a book signing at the Art and Garden Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, at 47947 West Huron River Drive in Van Buren Township. Local artists will also have their creations for sale, and garden items will be available.
