The Belleville High School men’s swim team won the Western Wayne Athletic Conference league title on Friday. These swimmers had an undefeated season in the league going 8-0 and then winning the league meet with 541 points. The next-closest team was Dearborn High with 434 points.
There were 9 swimmers that earned all-conference: Dylan DuBois in the 100 Breaststroke, Brendan Rice in the 200 Individual Medley, Cole Rupnow in the 50 Freestyle, Dillan Phan in the 200 Free Relay, Locke Malifatano in the 500 Freestyle, Andre Pham in the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay, Timo Budiono and Nate Michna both in Diving, and Zack Hermosillo-DeBoer in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke.
“It was a great accomplishment for everyone, said coach Aaron Lange. “These guys put in countless hours before school, after school, and on the weekends training as much as possible to drop their times.”
