City of Belleville voters on Tuesday re-elected Councilwoman Kim Tindall and elected former Mayor Thomas Fielder, both to four-year terms on city council.
Tindall earned 223 votes; Fielder, 218; and first-time candidate Bob Balderston, 128. There are 3,159 registered voters.
• Pct. 1: Tindall, 50; Fielder, 35; Balderston 32; 65 total votes cast.
• Pct. 2: Tindall 24; Fielder, 34; Balderston, 19; 42 total votes cast.
• Absentee: Tindall, 149; Fielder, 149; Balderston, 77; 211 total votes cast.
There are 3,159 registered voters and 318 of those voted, a 10% turnout.
At city hall after the votes were tallied, Tindall thanked everyone who supported her, “I appreciate the faith they have placed in me and I will do my best not to disappoint.”
Fielder also thanked voters for their support, adding he’s glad people still have confidence that he can do it.
Balderston said he didn’t do too badly for a person who’s never run for office before. He said he’ll be back in two years.
