
Belleville resident Jeff Riggs, at left, and Tim Craiger cleaned off the snow on Belleville Lake behind Johnny’s Grill recently for some skating and ice hockey, alongside friends Shannon Otsby and Vesna Cadikovska.
Riggs said the ice was averaging 6-8 inches thick in that area. The pond is open to everyone. Please use caution. The shoveled-off portion is right off the shore below the city’s public parking lot.
