On May 4, as part of the National Honor Society and Distinguished Graduate Program ceremonies at Belleville High School, 45 BHS students were inducted into the National Honor Society.
The students inducted were: Alyssa Adams, Olivia Borgdorff, Justine Bradley, Rachel Connors, John Couperthwaite, Carla Crowe, David Dale, Erin Douglas, Chase Duncan, Chelsea Edwards, Kassidy Fortune, Anea Gaskin, Natalie George, Kailyn Gray, William Gregg, Sara Guevara, Lisa Lynn Guthrie, Alexis Hatchard, Tia Haugabook, Ryann Hollis, Sharon Horton, Nicholas Jeng, Lauryn Jenkins, Minisha Kanakarajan, Ramone Kittrell, Kymberley Leggett, Sierra Leonard, Lindsay Lore, Emily Mall, Zachary Martin, Edward McWilliams, Moira Mrocca, Stephanie O’Neill, Alexa Porcaro, Kiara Porter-Wiley, Emmerick Porzondek, Haley Richardson, Joseph Richie, Whitney Roll, Madison Schaekel, Megan Seay, Benjamin Shingles, Hannah Smith, Devin Stevens, and Iana Thurman.
Their induction followed the honoring of four Distinguished Graduates: Lynn Halton, Richard McQuaid, Karen Skszek Mida, and Special Posthumous Award to Fred Dunayczan.
Distinguished Graduate committee
The Distinguished Graduate Program Selection Committee this year was made up of BHS Principal Adbudul Madyun, Belleville Mayor Kerreen Conley, Chamber of Commerce President Keith Johnston, BHS Alumni Coordinators Anita Greca and Mildred Baker, Historical Society President Tom Fielder, and former Distinguished Graduates Randy Brown and William Wolters.
Positions on the Selection Committee rotate annually between service organizations and city and township government officials, according to a notation in the program.
